Mr Lohan is our clinical practice pharmacist who has been at Honley Surgery for 2 years.

He is training to be an advanced clinical practitioner and can help you deal with medication queries, help you manage long term health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and minor illnesses.

We also have 4 clinical pharmacists who work across The Valleys Primary Care Network. They specialize in structured medication reviews, long term condition advice and medication queries i.e. Side effects and supply issues.

Honley Surgery has a hospital phlebotomist visit twice a week to take routine blood samples in addition to the services provided by our nursing and healthcare team.

GP practices can refer patients to a Social Prescribing link worker (SPLW). They will help you identify any issues and challenges that you would like to address and help connect you to services and local community activities that can support you.

Social Prescribing works for a wide range of people, including people:

  • With 1 or more long term conditions

  • Who needs support with their mental health

  • Who are lonely or isolated

  • Who have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing

Jennifer Strickland is our SPLW for The Valleys Primary Care Network and she works at Honley Surgery every Thursday.
